The 282858-4: The rising cage clamp mechanism (screw-driven) accepts 12-30 AWG solid or stranded wire, clamping the conductor against a nickel-plated brass current bar. The M3 screw is torqued to 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In) — enough to pull the cage up and create a gas-tight joint without stripping the threads in the PA66 housing. The green polyamide body is UL94 V-0 rated for in-enclosure use, and the side interlocking feature lets you snap multiple blocks together for a multi-circuit strip without extra brackets.
What the 24 A and 600 V Ratings Mean for Your Circuit
For a 4-position block, that means up to 24 A per circuit simultaneously, limited by the total temperature rise in the housing. If your application runs at elevated ambient temperatures (above the unspecified derating point), the 24 A figure must be reduced per the manufacturer's derating curve — a common oversight when populating a dense panel.
