Wiring and Installation
The TE Connectivity 282873-2 is a two-position PCB-mount terminal block from the Buchanan series, designed for side-entry wire termination with a rising cage clamp. Wires from 12 AWG down to 30 AWG are accepted — the clamp pulls the wire against a brass bus bar, not the screw tip, so the conductor isn't damaged under torque. The M3 screw is tightened to 0.68 Nm (6 Lb-In); the brass screw and clamp are both nickel-plated for corrosion resistance in industrial cabinet environments.
Board Layout and Pitch
The 0.200" (5.08mm) pitch is the standard spacing for European-style terminal blocks — it matches the footprint for most 5.08mm-pitch headers and relay sockets. With two positions per level and two levels, the block occupies a 10.16mm-wide footprint on the board.
