The TE Connectivity LIGHT-N-LOK 2834054-2 is a 3-position plug for cable-to-cable or cable-to-wire interconnects. It uses a poke-in termination — strip the wire, push it into the contact cavity, and the internal spring holds it — no crimp tool needed on the line.
The current rating is given as 3A and 8A — the lower figure applies when all three positions are loaded continuously; the 8A figure applies to a single circuit or under lower ambient temperature. The 600V voltage rating gives creepage headroom for mains-isolation circuits. The 10 mating cycles mean this is a low-disconnect-duty connector — fine for a permanent harness connection or occasional service, not for daily unplugging. The tin contact finish is adequate for the cycle count; gold would add cost with no benefit at this duty.
The 2834054-2 accepts 16-22 AWG wire. The poke-in termination works with solid or stranded wire — strip to the length specified in the TE application drawing, push in until the spring seats. No special tool beyond a wire stripper is required for the termination itself. For production harness assembly, a simple insertion tool can speed up the process, but the connector is designed for hand assembly.
