3-Position LIGHT-N-LOK Receptacle with Poke-In Termination
It uses poke-in termination — no crimp tool required — accepting 16-22 AWG wire directly into the tin-plated copper alloy contacts.
Poke-In Termination and Wire Prep
Poke-in termination means the stripped wire end is pushed directly into the contact cavity — no crimp barrel, no special tool beyond a wire stripper set for 16-22 AWG. The contact beam grips the conductor; the latch holder locks the housing halves together. For a reliable connection, strip length and full insertion depth matter more than crimp height. The 10-cycle mating limit means this connector is best treated as a one-time or occasional-service joint.
Dual Current Rating: 3A per Contact or 8A Total
The 2834055-1 carries a dual current rating: 3A per contact individually, or 8A total across all three positions. The 8A total is the practical limit when all circuits are loaded — the housing temperature rise governs the aggregate current more than the individual contact rating. Tin contacts are suited for low-cycle applications; for higher mating-cycle duty, a gold-plated sibling would be the alternative.
