The 2834080-1: It uses a screwless spring cage (tension clamp) termination — push the wire in, the spring holds it, no tool needed. The single-level gray PA66 housing is rated for 20 A at 300 V, covering both power distribution and heavier signal connections on the same board. This is the 2-position member of the 2834080 series, built for applications where a compact, tool-less wire termination is preferred over a screw clamp.
Spring Cage Termination and Wire Range
The spring cage accepts 12 to 28 AWG wire — solid or stranded — without needing a ferrule. You strip the wire, push it into the clamp opening, and the tension spring grabs it. The side-entry orientation (horizontal with board) suits enclosures where the wire approaches parallel to the PCB rather than from above. The side interlock feature lets you gang multiple blocks side-by-side on a DIN rail or panel without gaps.
20 A per position at 300 V is the maximum continuous rating under standard conditions. For a 2-position block, that means each terminal can carry 20 A independently — the total through the block can reach 40 A when both positions are used for separate circuits.
