3-Position 10.16 mm Pitch Power Plug
The 284051-3 is a 3-position plug from the TE Buchanan series, using a 0.400" (10.16mm) pitch that provides ample creepage for 300 V circuits. The plug accepts 12-30 AWG wire (0.05-3mm²) with a screw rising cage clamp termination, torqued to 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In). The 90° wire entry angle keeps the cable routed parallel to the panel surface, saving depth in shallow enclosures. The green polyamide (PA66) housing carries a UL94 V-0 flammability rating and an operating temperature range of -40°C to 110°C, suitable for unheated outdoor cabinets and motor control centers.
Strip length is 6-7.5 mm; the rising cage clamp captures solid or stranded wire without a ferrule. Retention latches on the wire side lock the plug into the mating header, preventing vibration-induced disconnection. The M3 screw size accepts a standard Pozidriv or slotted driver.
