The 284093-3: It uses a screw-driven rising cage clamp that accepts 16-30 AWG wire, rated for 13.5 A at 300 V. The green polyamide (PA66) housing is a single-level through-hole mount, oriented vertically with the board. Side interlocking features let you gang multiple blocks into a multi-position assembly without separate hardware — useful for building out a distribution point on a single PCB footprint.
What the 13.5 A and 300 V ratings mean for your circuit
The 300 V rating gives enough headroom for 240 VAC line-level switching or 48 VDC power supplies with margin. The M3 screw torque spec of 0.68 Nm (6 Lb-In) is the clamping force that keeps the rising cage from loosening under thermal cycling; overtightening can strip the brass-nickel-plated screw or crack the PA66 housing.
Wire termination and field installation
The rising cage clamp captures the stripped conductor against the tin-plated brass contact — no ferrule required for stranded wire, though a ferrule helps with fine-strand 16 AWG. The 16-30 AWG range covers solid and stranded control wiring; 16 AWG is the thickest the cage accepts, so a 14 AWG feeder needs a different block. The side interlocking lets you snap multiple 284093-3 blocks together side-by-side to create a 6-, 9-, or 12-position strip on the same 5.00 mm pitch grid, sharing the same PCB hole pattern.
