The TE Connectivity Buchanan 284391-2 is a 2-position terminal block designed for printed circuit board mounting with side wire entry. It uses a screw-driven rising cage clamp termination, accepting wire from 14 to 30 AWG. Rated 12 A per position, it suits control wiring, power distribution, and sensor/actuator interfaces inside industrial enclosures.
The rising cage clamp mechanism pulls the wire against a current bar as the M3 screw is tightened to 0.25 Nm (2.2 Lb-In). The clamp and screw are brass with nickel plating; the contact surface is brass with tin plating. The housing is polyamide PA66 (Nylon 6/6).
Stacking and Multi-Pole Assembly
The interlocking side feature lets multiple 284391-2 blocks snap together side-by-side to form a multi-pole strip without extra brackets or jumpers. Each block is a single level with 2 positions per level. For a 4-, 6-, or 8-position assembly, order the corresponding number of 2-position blocks and interlock them.
