Wiring and Torque Specs for the Rising Cage Clamp
The rising cage clamp accepts solid or stranded wire from 14 AWG down to 30 AWG. The M3 screw is tightened to 0.25 Nm (2.2 Lb-In) — that's about a quarter turn past finger-tight on a standard terminal screwdriver. Over-torquing strips the brass threads; under-torquing leaves the cage not fully lifted against the wire. The clamp and screw are brass with nickel plating, and the contact bar is brass with tin plating — the tin surface mates well with copper wire and resists galvanic corrosion in indoor environments.
