Panel Wiring Terminal Block, 4 Circuits, 3.81 mm Pitch
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 284392-4 is a 4-position PCB-mount terminal block on a 0.150" (3.81mm) pitch, designed for wire-to-board power distribution inside an enclosure. The green polyamide (PA66) housing carries one level of termination, with the wire entry oriented horizontally to the board — a layout that keeps the screw terminals accessible along the board edge for field wiring. Each circuit is rated 12 A at 300 V, which puts this block in the power-termination class: sized for control transformers, power supplies, and industrial I/O modules where signal-level blocks would run hot.
Screw Cage Clamp Termination and Wire Range
Termination is screw-driven rising cage clamp — the screw (M3 thread, brass-nickel) pushes a nickel-plated brass clamp plate down onto the conductor, trapping it against the current bar. The wire range covers 14-30 AWG, which is typical for panel wiring: 14 AWG for power feeds, 24-30 AWG for sensor or control loops. The specified torque is 0.25 Nm (2.2 Lb-In) — overtightening strips the M3 thread in the PA66 boss, so a torque driver set to that value is the right tool for the harness bench. The clamp material is brass-nickel, and the contact bar is brass-tin plated, adequate for the 12 A rating in dry indoor environments.
Side Interlocking for Multi-Position Ganging
The side interlocking feature allows multiple 284392-4 blocks to be snapped together side-by-side into a continuous terminal strip. This is useful when a single PCB needs, say, 8 or 12 positions but the board layout benefits from modular assembly — each 4-position block is individually replaceable without desoldering the whole strip. The interlock is a mechanical dovetail on the housing sidewall; it does not carry current between blocks.
