It terminates solid or stranded wire from 12 AWG up to 30 AWG using a screw-driven rising cage clamp — the clamp lifts to accept the stripped conductor, then closes down evenly to grip it without nicking strands. The block is rated 12 A per position at 300 V, which puts it in the moderate-power distribution class: think control cabinet I/O, lighting ballast connections, or HVAC controller field wiring, not bus-bar current.
