9-Position PCB Terminal Block with Rising Cage Clamp
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 284414-9 is a 9-position, single-level PCB terminal block designed for wire-to-board termination in control panels, power supplies, and industrial equipment. It uses a screw-driven rising cage clamp that accepts 12-30 AWG solid or stranded wire — the clamp lifts against a nickel-plated brass plate, pulling the wire into the current path without damaging strands. Green polyamide housing is standard for ground or neutral identification in many panel layouts.
Rated for 12 A at 300 V — Wire Gauge and Torque Limits
Each position is rated 12 A continuous at 300 V, with the current capacity tied to the full 12-30 AWG wire range. The M3 screw requires 0.25 Nm (2.2 Lb-In) of torque — enough to seat the rising cage clamp without stripping the brass threads. The contact and clamp materials are brass with nickel plating, and the screw is brass with nickel plating, providing corrosion resistance in industrial atmospheres.
Interlocking Side Feature for Multi-Position Ganging
The interlocking (side) feature allows multiple 284414-9 blocks to be snapped together side-by-side, creating a continuous terminal strip without additional mounting hardware. This is useful when the circuit count exceeds 9 positions — simply add another block and lock it into the adjacent unit. The vertical wire entry (top entry) mates with the board perpendicularly, keeping the wire path straight for tidy harness routing.
