What This Plug Does on the Line
The 284507-2 is a 2-position plug with female sockets, designed for the Buchanan series terminal block system. The 0.150" (3.81mm) pitch sets the per-contact current ceiling at 11 A, with a voltage rating of 300 V — enough for most control and power distribution circuits inside an industrial cabinet. The side stacking feature means you can gang multiple 284507-2 plugs together side-by-side to build a multi-circuit assembly.
Termination and Wire Prep Checklist
The screw - rising cage clamp termination is field-serviceable: strip the wire to 5-6mm, insert into the cage, and tighten the M2 screw to 0.31 Nm. The cage rises to clamp the conductor against the contact — no ferrule needed, but stranded wire should be twisted or tinned. Wire entry is 180° straight into the plug, which keeps the cable routing clean on a panel or DIN rail. The plug mounts free-hanging (in-line) — no board or panel cutout required.
