5-position plug for 3.81 mm pitch header
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 284511-5 is a 5-position plug with female sockets, designed to mate with a fixed header on a 0.150" (3.81mm) pitch. The screw - rising cage clamp termination accepts 14-30 AWG wire (0.05-2 mm²) and the M2 screw is torqued to 0.31 Nm (2.7 Lb-In). The rising cage lifts the conductor against the contact beam, giving a gas-tight connection without cold flow.
Wiring and field termination
Wire strip length is 5-6 mm; the plug wire entry is 180° straight out from the housing. The mating flange feature helps align and lock the plug to the header, preventing accidental disconnection in a panel or enclosure.

The 284511 series includes 4-position (284511-4) and 8-position (284511-8) variants with identical pitch, termination, and ratings. The 5-position plug is the middle option — if the BOM calls for 4 or 8 circuits, those are direct drop-ins with the same footprint.
