Pitch and position count set the PCB footprint
The 284513-4: The 0.150" (3.81mm) pitch and 4 positions define the board layout — every hole location on the PCB must match this spacing. In a shallow enclosure or panel-mount terminal block application, this saves z-height compared to a vertical header — the insulation height of 0.287" (7.30mm) is the tallest point above the board.
Current rating and plating — what the numbers mean for your circuit
Rated 11 A per contact under UL conditions. Voltage rating is 300 V — this is the maximum working voltage between adjacent pins or to ground. For signal-level circuits (24 V, 48 V) the margin is generous; for 277 V lighting circuits the connector is at its ceiling and creepage distance should be verified per the application.
Housing material and flammability — compliance without extra cost
Polyamide (PA66) housing with UL94 V-0 rating — the connector will not propagate flame in a fault condition. The green color is the Buchanan series identifier, not a functional spec. RoHS Compliant per — no restricted substances above threshold limits. No additional compliance documentation is required for EU-market equipment.
The base product number 284513 covers the series; a 4-position right-angle header is the only variant at this pitch. If a different position count is needed, the 284513 family includes 2- through 12-position options — but each has its own order code and must be sourced separately.
