USB 2.0 Type-B Receptacle — 4 Contacts, Right-Angle, Shielded
It's the standard downstream port connector found on USB hubs, printers, and peripheral devices — the square-ish socket that accepts a Type-B plug from a cable. The 1500 mating cycles rating is solid for a USB port that sees daily plug/unplug in a lab or office environment; the gold or gold-palladium contact finish keeps the mating surface corrosion-free through that duty.
The board lock consists of two metal posts that press into plated through-holes and get soldered, giving the connector mechanical retention against the insertion force of a USB plug. No separate bracket or screw is needed. Termination is solder-only — the four signal pins and the shield tabs all flow-solder to the board. The shielded shell has additional solder tabs that tie the shield to the ground plane, keeping the return path short for USB 2.0 signal integrity.
