Key Features for Harness Assembly
The IDC termination eliminates individual wire stripping and crimping, allowing a single press operation to terminate all 64 conductors simultaneously. The feed-through design passes the ribbon cable through the housing, giving a straight-through cable exit. A polarizing key prevents mis-mating with the matching header, and the integrated strain relief clamps the cable jacket to protect the IDC terminations from pull forces.
The polarizing key in the housing ensures it only mates with a header that has the matching key slot. For a complete interconnect, pair this with the corresponding TE 622 series header and the correct ribbon cable. The 26-28 AWG range covers the most common ribbon cable gauges used in digital signal and low-current parallel bus applications.
