Vertical Shielded RJ45 Jack with Board Lock
It is the through-hole solder version from the 1734577 base series, carrying a Cat3 ratings category that defines its transmission performance ceiling for basic voice and data rates.
Shielding and Retention for the Board Edge
The full metal shield wraps the jack body to contain radiated emissions from the unshielded twisted-pair side and to bleed common-mode noise to the PCB ground plane.
For a connector that lives at a desk-side or lab-bench wall plate where plugs are swapped daily, that extra thickness delays the point where wear-through exposes the phosphor bronze substrate and the contact resistance drifts upward. The housing is glass-filled PA46, which handles the reflow temperatures of lead-free solder profiles without distorting the 8P8C contact beam geometry.
TE Connectivity lists this jack as Active and ROHS3 Compliant. The part ships in tray packaging. No LED indicator is fitted; the tab direction is user-selectable to match the PCB layout for the latching plug.
