IDC termination eliminates individual crimp operations — the wire is pressed into insulation-displacement slots in one step. The 26-28 AWG range is tight; only discrete wire within that gauge fits the slot geometry. The free-hanging (in-line) mount means this receptacle is wired into a harness, not soldered to a board, and mates with a CT-series pin header.
