2-Position Discrete-Wire IDC for SMD Assembly
It terminates 24 AWG discrete wire directly via insulation displacement — no crimp terminals, no separate wire preparation beyond stripping to length. The housing is natural (unpigmented) and carries a Closed End feature — the IDC slot is blind at one end, so the wire stops at a fixed insertion depth. This is a single-row, 1-row design with all 2 positions loaded.
Board Layout and Wire Routing
The 4.00 mm cable pitch matches the 4.00 mm board-side pitch, so the footprint pads and the wire spacing are the same dimension — useful for routing pairs of power or signal lines at a consistent center-to-center distance. The 24 AWG wire gauge is the only supported size — IDC connectors are gauge-specific, and the slot geometry is tuned for the insulation diameter and conductor cross-section of 24 AWG. Using a different wire gauge risks an unreliable termination or damage to the contact beam.
