IDC termination means the 18 AWG wire is pushed directly into the slot, displacing the insulation; no crimp tool or loose terminal is needed, which keeps the harness build simple and repeatable. The tin contact finish at 80.0µin (2.03µm) is thick enough to bite through wire oxide and hold a gas-tight joint over temperature cycles — this is the standard MTA-156 plating, not a thin flash.
