The TE Connectivity MTA-100 3-640443-3 is a 3-position, single-row IDC receptacle designed for mass-termination of 28 AWG discrete or ribbon cable. It is the female half of the MTA-100 wire-to-board interconnect system, mating with the corresponding 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch header. The closed-end design prevents stubbing during cable insertion, and the integral locking ramp provides a positive, vibration-resistant latch when mated.
Wiring and Termination Fit
This receptacle is factory-configured for 28 AWG wire and terminates via IDC (Insulation Displacement Connection), which displaces the insulation to make contact without stripping or soldering. The wire type is specified as discrete or ribbon cable, so the IDC slot spacing matches standard 0.100" ribbon cable or individual 28 AWG conductors.
