5-Position IDC Receptacle for Discrete or Ribbon Cable
The TE Connectivity MTA-100 3-640621-5 is a 5-position IDC receptacle designed for mass-terminating discrete or ribbon cable directly into the housing — no individual crimp contacts required. The single-row layout with a locking ramp gives a positive retention latch that clicks into the header shroud for vibration-resistant assemblies.
Termination and Wire Gauge
It accepts 24 AWG wire, either discrete or ribbon cable.
Locking Ramp and Retention
This is the primary retention mechanism — no secondary latch or screw lock. In a harness assembly subject to vibration or cable tug, the ramp holds the mated pair together without additional hardware. The white housing colour aids visual inspection on the assembly line.
