7-Position IDC Receptacle on 0.100" Pitch
The 3-641237-7: It terminates 22 AWG discrete or ribbon cable directly through insulation displacement — no individual wire stripping or crimping needed. The closed-end housing prevents wire insertion from the wrong side, a common assembly error on open-ended IDC connectors. The red color aids visual identification on the line.
30 µ" Gold Contacts for Field-Service Duty
In a harness that sees field replacement or periodic reconnection, this plating grade resists fretting corrosion better than a thin gold flash or tin finish. The gold is applied over the full contact surface, not just the mating tip.
IDC Termination — Wire Gauge Is Fixed
This connector terminates 22 AWG wire only. The IDC slot geometry is sized for that conductor diameter; using a different gauge risks an unreliable gas-tight joint or a slot that does not cut the insulation cleanly. Accepts both discrete wires and ribbon cable, so it fits either a point-to-point harness or a multi-conductor ribbon assembly.
Mounting: Free-Hanging, Right-Angle Cable Exit
The receptacle mounts free-hanging (in-line) with a right-angle cable exit.
