Termination and Wire Fit
For ribbon cable, the 0.100" pitch must match the conductor spacing exactly; a mismatch will slice between conductors instead of landing on them. The closed-end housing prevents over-insertion of the cable, so the wire stops at the back wall and the contacts align with the conductor centres every press.
This receptacle mates with any MTA-100 0.100" pitch header — through-hole or surface-mount, straight or right-angle. Free-hanging (in-line) or right-angle mounting gives flexibility for cable-to-board routing inside an enclosure.
