What This 8-Position MTA-100 IDC Receptacle Is
This receptacle is a wire-to-board interconnect — it mates with any MTA-100 0.100" pitch header (straight or right-angle, shrouded or unshrouded) on the PCB. The 28 AWG wire gauge is fixed by the IDC slot; the connector is designed for that size, so don't try to force 26 AWG — the insulation displacement contacts are gated for 28 AWG and won't grip larger wire reliably. The green housing colour is a visual key for the 8-position variant, helping line-side sorting in multi-position harness builds.
