MTA-156 IDC Plug, 3-Position, 18 AWG
It uses a 0.156" (3.96 mm) pitch, single-row layout, and accepts 18 AWG wire. The housing is orange, which in the MTA-156 system identifies the 18 AWG variant. The closed-end design prevents stubbing during cable insertion.
Cable is terminated via IDC (insulation displacement) — no stripping or crimping required. The plug mounts free-hanging (in-line) or at a right angle, suiting harness builds where connector orientation must follow the wire exit. It mates with standard MTA-156 headers; the 0.156" pitch and single-row pin pattern ensure a direct fit.
Within the same orange 18 AWG IDC plug family, the 3-641435-3 (3 positions) sits between the 2-position 3-641435-2 and the 4-position 3-641435-4. All share the identical 0.156" pitch, tin finish, closed-end housing, and free-hanging right-angle mount.
