The 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch matches the standard MTA-156 header footprint — the same spacing used across the series for board-to-wire interconnects in appliance, HVAC, and industrial control panels. The red closed-end housing stops the cable at a consistent depth during IDC termination, so each conductor lands on its slot without over-insertion.
IDC termination — no stripping, no crimp. The 80.0µin (2.03µm) tin finish is standard for the MTA-156 series, giving adequate corrosion resistance for indoor equipment environments.
This plug mates with any MTA-156 header that has 0.156" pitch and 4 positions — typically the TE 640441 series vertical headers or 640443 right-angle headers. Both use the same 0.045" square pin on 0.156" centers. The closed-end plug body does not accept a secondary TPA; the IDC retention is the only lock, so the wire must be fully seated during termination for the contact to hold.
