MTA-100 2-Position IDC Receptacle for Discrete or Ribbon Cable
The 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch matches the standard MTA-100 header footprint, making this a direct mate for any 2-position MTA-100 pin header. The closed-end design blocks the last cavity, preventing incorrect cable insertion.
This connector uses IDC termination — the contacts pierce the insulation of 24 AWG wire in a single press operation. No crimp tool or loose terminals are needed, which speeds harness build for ribbon cable or discrete wire bundles. The wire type is listed as discrete or ribbon cable, so it handles both round and flat conductors at the same gauge.
That is a heavy tin layer — good for a few dozen mating cycles in a permanent or semi-permanent harness, but not designed for frequent field reconnection.
The receptacle is free-hanging (in-line) and right-angle — the cable exits at 90° to the mating axis. This orientation suits tight enclosures where a straight cable exit would interfere with the housing wall or adjacent components.
