The TE Connectivity MTA-100 3-643498-5 is a 5-position IDC receptacle in the MTA-100 series, designed for mass-termination of 22 AWG discrete or ribbon cable. The 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch matches the standard MTA-100 header footprint, so the board layout is set by the header side — this receptacle simply lands on the same grid.
Termination and Cable Exit
The free-hanging right-angle mount lets the cable exit parallel to the board face, which helps in enclosures where straight-out clearance is tight. The closed end provides a positive stop for the wire, so the insertion depth is consistent across all five positions without a separate tooling stop. Wire gauge is fixed at 22 AWG; the IDC slot geometry is sized for that single gauge, so swapping wire sizes is not an option without changing the connector.
