MTA-156 IDC Receptacle — 5-Position, 20 AWG
The TE Connectivity 3-643818-5 is a 5-position MTA-156 receptacle that terminates 20 AWG discrete or ribbon cable via IDC — no stripping, no crimping, just a one-step press. The 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch is the standard spacing for this family, giving enough room for the IDC slot to bite cleanly through the insulation without crowding adjacent wires. A closed end stops the cable from pushing through the housing, and the polarizing key ensures the mating header can only be inserted one way — both features that save rework on a harness build. Tin contacts with 80.0µin (2.03µm) of plating handle the moderate mating-cycle duty of an internal harness — no gold needed for this application.
