Two-Position IDC Receptacle for 0.156" Pitch Ribbon Cable
The 3-643821-2: The 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch matches the standard MTA-156 header footprint, so the cable slot lines up with the header pins without guesswork. Blue housing with a closed end and a polarizing key means the cable can't be shoved in backwards or from the wrong side.
IDC Termination and 26 AWG Wire
This receptacle is built for 26 AWG wire — the IDC slot is dimensioned for that conductor diameter. Push the ribbon cable or discrete wires into the slot, press the cover down, and the contacts slice through the insulation to grab the conductor. No stripping, no crimping, no extra parts.
Locking Ramp and Polarizing Key
The polarizing key on the closed end ensures the receptacle only mates one way with the header, so you don't discover a reversed cable after the harness is tied down. Free-hanging (in-line) mounting means it floats on the cable, not on the board — useful for point-to-point wiring where the header is panel-mounted or board-mounted.
