The TE Connectivity MTA-100 3-644083-5 is a 5-position IDC receptacle built for 22 AWG wire. It terminates discrete or ribbon cable directly — no crimp tool, no loose terminals.
For discrete wire, you feed each conductor into its channel and press the cover down. For ribbon cable, the whole cable aligns with the slot array and terminates in one press. The closed-end feature means the housing has a back wall, so the wire stops at a fixed depth — no risk of pushing it through. The 80.0 µ" (2.03 µm) tin plating is standard for IDC; the thickness gives a reliable gas-tight joint on the wire without the cost of gold.
Free-hanging (in-line) or right-angle mounting — the housing can sit on the end of a wire harness or be board-mounted at a right angle. The single-row, 5-position layout is keyed by the ramp position, so you can't reverse the mate.
