MTA-156 IDC Receptacle, 4-Position, 0.156" Pitch
The 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch gives enough spacing for 18 AWG wire without forcing an oversized harness cross-section — a practical balance for power distribution and signal interconnect in appliance and industrial control panels. The single-row, free-hanging (in-line) housing accepts the matching MTA-156 header, and the locking ramp provides audible positive retention against vibration or cable strain.
IDC Termination and Contact Finish
Tin is the cost-effective choice for moderate mating-cycle applications where gold's corrosion resistance is not required; the thick plating ensures reliable gas-tight connections over the service life.
Wire Gauge and Cable Type
The receptacle accepts 18 AWG wire, specified for both discrete and ribbon cable. The IDC slot geometry is sized for that gauge — using a thinner wire may not achieve the required insulation displacement force, while thicker wire risks damaging the contact beam. Stick with 18 AWG for a reliable termination.
