The TE Connectivity MTA-156 3-644663-4 is a 4-position, single-row IDC receptacle built for 20 AWG discrete or ribbon cable. The yellow housing carries a closed end and a polarizing key, which together prevent a mis-oriented cable from seating and block back-out of the terminated wires.
No separate crimp terminal is needed; the wire is stripped and inserted in one operation. The MTA-156 IDC tooling (a hand press or pneumatic applicator) drives the wire home and cuts the excess lead. For ribbon cable, the same IDC slot accepts all conductors in a single stroke, making this receptacle a fast option for multi-conductor harnesses where the pitch matches the cable lay.
That thickness is well into the high-cycle range — it handles hundreds of mate-unmate events without the oxidation or wear-through you would see with tin or flash gold.
