The IDC termination accepts 22 AWG wire — solid or stranded — without stripping or crimping. The feed-through feature allows daisy-chaining along a cable run, common in MTA-100 harnesses. The red housing colour is a visual key for the 22 AWG variant; other gauges in the series use different colours to prevent mis-wiring.
Free-hanging (in-line) or right-angle mounting — the receptacle can be panel-mounted or left loose in a harness. Mates with any MTA-100 0.100" pitch header (straight or right-angle, shrouded or unshrouded). The locking ramp clicks into the header latch pocket; the audible snap confirms full engagement.
