What This 8-Position IDC Plug Does in a Harness
Typical use is internal board-to-wire signal interconnect in appliances, industrial controls, and telecom gear where the 8-circuit count fits a common I/O bundle.
Termination and Wire Gauge — No Stripping Needed
IDC termination presses the wire into the slot, displacing insulation to make contact. The slot is sized for 26 AWG.
Mating Header and Latch Fit
This plug mates with any MTA-100 series straight or right-angle header that has a matching latch holder feature — the latch on the plug clicks onto the header ramp for positive retention. The 0.100" pitch and 8 positions are standard across the MTA-100 family, so the header side is widely available. No special keying; the closed end prevents reverse insertion of the wire, but the plug itself is not polarized beyond the latch orientation.
