Sizing the Connection: Stud and Wire Match
The TE Connectivity 326799 is a rectangular crimp terminal from the Ampower series, built for bolting 2 AWG cable to a 3/8 stud. The barrel accepts the full 2 AWG conductor cross-section, and the ring ID of 0.390" (9.91 mm) clears the stud diameter. Tin-plated copper keeps contact resistance low in dry indoor environments — no gold needed for a permanent stud connection. The two-stud-hole tab (0.090" thick) spreads the clamping load so the lug doesn't rotate under torque.
Crimping and Termination Checklist
This is a standard barrel crimp terminal — no insulation, no pre-insulated sleeve. Strip the 2 AWG conductor, insert into the barrel (barrel ID 0.362", OD 0.478"), and crimp with a heavy-duty hex or indent tool rated for 2 AWG. Two 3/8 stud holes give you a redundant mechanical anchor if the application calls for it.
