Step-down wire splice, 10-12 to 14-16 AWG
The 327637 is a PIDG-series step-down butt splice from TE Connectivity AMP Connectors, joining a 10-12 AWG wire to a 14-16 AWG wire in a single inline splice. The blue non-insulated barrel accepts two wires and is closed with a standard crimp tool — the step-down feature lets a heavier power feed transition to a smaller branch circuit without a separate terminal block.
What the step-down means for the splice
The step-up/step-down feature accepts two different wire gauge ranges in a single barrel — the larger opening takes 10-12 AWG, the smaller takes 14-16 AWG — so the splice acts as a gauge transition without an intermediate junction.
