Mini CT 2-Position IDC Receptacle — Wire-Gauge Trap
The TE 353293-2 is a 2-position receptacle in the Mini CT series, terminated via IDC for 26-28 AWG discrete wire. Tin-plated female sockets, free-hanging (in-line) mount, gray housing with a closed end.
IDC Termination — No Crimp, No Rework
IDC termination pushes the wire into a slotted beam that pierces the insulation — no crimp tool, no loose terminal. The trade-off is that the wire gauge is fixed at 26-28 AWG; the slot width and beam geometry are optimised for that range, so a wire outside it either won't seat or won't cut through the insulation reliably. Once terminated, the wire is permanent — rework means cutting the wire and replacing the connector.
