1.50mm Pitch, 7-Position IDC Receptacle for Discrete Wire Harnesses
The 1.50mm pitch keeps the board footprint tight — each position is 1.5 mm apart, so a 7-circuit header takes about 10.5 mm of PCB edge. The closed-end housing prevents the IDC contacts from pushing through the back during assembly, which is a common failure when the wire insertion force isn't controlled. Tin contacts are fine for a harness that mates once and stays put; they're not rated for repeated disconnect-reconnect cycles where gold would be needed to avoid fretting corrosion.
This is an IDC (Insulation Displacement Connector) receptacle — strip the wire, lay it across the slot, press down. The slot cuts through the insulation and grips the conductor. No crimp die, no terminal inventory. The trade-off: wire gauge tolerance is tight at 26-28 AWG, and the wire must be solid or fine-stranded. Stranded wire with a coarse lay can distort in the slot. The closed-end housing means the IDC contact bottoms out against the back wall, giving a consistent insertion depth — no push-through rejects on the line.
The free-hanging (in-line) mounting means it's a cable-to-board or cable-to-cable interconnect, not a panel-mount. Gray housing — no functional difference from natural, just a color code for the harness. The single-row layout keeps the cable bundle narrow; good for tight routing inside a control cabinet or appliance.
