2-Circuit 0.250" Pitch Barrier Block for Panel and PCB Wiring
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 3PCV-02-006 is a 2-circuit barrier strip from the #3 series, designed for terminating individual wires to a printed circuit board or panel. The 0.250" (6.35mm) pitch spaces the two terminals wide enough for 18-22 AWG wire with a screw-clamp termination, while the through-hole PC pins anchor the block to the board. Rated 10A at 300V, it handles control-signal and low-power distribution duty inside industrial cabinets, HVAC panels, and appliance enclosures.
Termination and Wire Handling
This is a field-service detail: a technician replacing a wire on a live panel does not hunt for a loose washer. Wire range is 18-22 AWG, which covers common control wiring like TFFN, THHN, and MTW. The terminal screw is steel with a zinc finish, giving adequate corrosion resistance for dry indoor environments.
Barrier Design and Isolation
The 3 Wall (Tri) barrier creates three insulating walls between adjacent terminals — one centre wall and two end walls. This increases creepage distance compared to a single-wall or open-barrier design, which matters for the 300V rating when wires are routed close together. The tri-wall also helps guide the screwdriver blade and prevents accidental shorting to an adjacent terminal during termination.
