Barrier Strip for Panel Wiring — 8 Circuits at 0.250" Pitch
The TE Connectivity 3PCV-08-006 is an 8-circuit barrier strip from the #3 Buchanan series, designed for point-to-point wiring in control panels, power distribution, and industrial equipment. The 0.250" (6.35mm) pitch gives enough spacing between terminals for 18-22 AWG wire terminated under the screws with captive plate — the plate traps the conductor without the wire looping around the screw shank, which speeds assembly and reduces cold-flow creep. The three-wall barrier design (Tri) isolates adjacent terminals, preventing accidental shorting from stray strands or tool contact.
Wiring and Termination — Screws with Captive Plate
Top termination uses screws with captive plate — the plate stays captured in the screw thread, so there is no loose washer to drop into the panel. The screw material is steel with a zinc finish; the zinc provides corrosion resistance in indoor panel environments. The strip accepts 18-22 AWG wire; the captive plate distributes clamping force across the conductor, reducing the risk of strand breakage compared to a bare screw head.
