Termination is IDC (Insulation Displacement Connection): the plug accepts discrete wire and the contacts pierce the insulation when pressed with a standard IDC hand tool or press. No wire stripping or crimping needed — the correct die set for 2.00 mm pitch ribbon cable seats all four conductors simultaneously. Free-hanging (in-line) mounting means no board footprint is required — the plug terminates a cable run that mates to a board-mounted header elsewhere.
