The TE 4-215882-0 is a 40-position, dual-row IDC receptacle from the Mark II series. It terminates standard 0.100" pitch ribbon cable with a mass-termination IDC slot — no wire stripping, no individual crimping. The 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch on both the contact spacing and the row spacing means it lands on a standard 0.100" grid header, and the 30.0 µ" (0.76 µm) gold contact finish gives it the mating cycle life for repeated connect/disconnect in a harness or backplane cable assembly. The gray housing includes a feed-through slot and a polarizing key, so it mates in one orientation only — no chance of a reversed cable.
