17-Position IDC Receptacle for 22 AWG Harnesses
The 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch gives each contact plenty of room — no risk of adjacent-wire shorting in a harness, and the IDC termination means you land all 17 wires in one press operation. The red closed-end housing and locking ramp make it a one-way mate with the matching header; the ramp holds against vibration in an industrial cabinet or appliance.
Tin-on-tin interfaces work well for a permanent or infrequently mated harness — the plating wipes clean on insertion and the locking ramp keeps the pair mated. What it does not do is survive hundreds of mate-unmate cycles; if this connector sees frequent field disconnects, a gold-plated sibling would be the better call. For a one-time build inside an enclosure, the tin finish is exactly what keeps the BOM cost down.
