The TE Connectivity 4-640432-0 is a 10-position receptacle in the MTA-156 series, designed for mass-termination of discrete or ribbon cable using IDC (insulation displacement) contacts. It carries a 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch, matching the standard MTA-156 header spacing, and accepts 20 AWG wire. The closed-end housing prevents stubbing during assembly, and the yellow colour aids visual line identification on the harness floor.
This speeds up harness assembly when running multiple conductors to a single header. The 80.0µin (2.03µm) tin contact finish provides good corrosion resistance for indoor equipment but limits the connector to a few dozen mating cycles; it is a cost-effective choice for one-time or low-service harnesses, not for frequent field disconnect.
