Termination and Wire Compatibility
This receptacle terminates via IDC — no wire stripping, no crimping. The IDC slot pierces the insulation on insertion, making gas-tight connections across all 10 positions in one press. For ribbon cable, the 0.100" pitch aligns directly with standard rainbow ribbon; for discrete wires, you load them into the slots and press.
The 4-640440-0 mates with any MTA-100 0.100" pitch header — unshrouded or shrouded, straight or right-angle, through-hole or surface-mount — as long as the position count matches.
