The 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch matches the standard MTA-100 header footprint, so the board layout is locked once you pick this series. The closed-end design prevents stubbing on the last position during assembly. The red housing color is part of the MTA-100 visual keying system: red bodies are standard for 22 AWG receptacles, helping line workers and field techs confirm the wire gauge at a glance before termination.
Termination and Mounting — Free-Hanging Right-Angle
This is an IDC connector: strip the cable jacket, fan the wires into the slot, and press down with a hand tool or arbor press. No crimp terminals, no individual wire stripping — the insulation is displaced by the contact tines as they pierce the conductor.
Mates with any standard MTA-100 header (0.100" pitch, square pins).
