18-Position MTA-100 IDC Receptacle for Discrete or Ribbon Cable
This is a field-service-friendly feature: the connector stays put under cable strain but can be unmated without tools. For a free-hanging harness, the right-angle exit also reduces the bend radius stress on the wire bundle compared to a straight vertical takeoff.
It accepts 22 AWG solid or stranded wire in either discrete or ribbon cable form. A simple hand press or bench fixture seats the wire; no separate crimp die or terminal inventory is required. The closed end acts as a wire stop, so each conductor seats to the same depth — consistent insertion across all 18 positions without measuring. For ribbon cable, the pitch matches standard 0.100" rainbow ribbon, so you can mass-terminate the whole bundle in one stroke.
